Question: Hi - I have been given a 42 day of doxycycline for an infection with LGV - now I have a suspected chest infection - is it ok to start augmentin?

Thanks for posting a query,

Doxycicline alone would be sufficient for the chest infection also. If necessary you can take Any other symptomatic treatment like Tab. Monte LC 1 tablet 2 times for 5 days. And piritone syrup.


If at all the chest doesn't clear up in 5 days then start on different antibiotic by consulting a doctor.
Do not start any sort of antibiotic by self.
