Brief Answer:
Check the dose of meftal P and continue sponging
Detailed Answer:
Hello
I can understand your concern. The dose of Meftal P for a 12 kg child is 4 ml. First of all, please check whether you have given the appropriate dose or not.
Continue sponging. Fever usually responds to Meftal P within 30-40 minute.
If fever persists even after that, then you may also give paracetamol. The dose of Paracetamol is about 180 mg that is 5 ml of syrup which contains 120 mg.
If the cough is severe, there is any breathing difficulty or fever is not decreasing, then please also consult emergency room immediately.
I hope this helps. Feel free to ask further.
