Brief Answer:
a mucolytic, decongestant, cough suppressant would help

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Cefixime is an antibiotic and montelukast is one of the medications that can help reduce allergies in some persons.

You may want to try using a mucolytic. This is a medication that helps to break up mucus so that it can be expelled easier.
Eg include bisolvan, guaifenesin (in robitussin), mucomyst.

In addition the use of a decongestant, both oral and topical , to reduce nasal congestion would also be helpful.
Oral decongestants are normally found in over the counter cough and cold or allergy meds.
Eg of topical decongestants include are normal saline nose drops, xylometazoline, oxymetazoline.
These may be found over the counter as well

In addition, the use of warm facial compresses would help with drainage.

You can use a cough suppressant at night , so that you can get some rest. Also over the counter

Cough associated with flu/ cough and cold can sometimes last up to 6 weeks after the other symptoms have resolved.

Summary: (1) consider adding a mucolytic
(2)decongestant
(3)warm facial compresses
(4)cough suppressant

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions

Brief Answer:
the decongestant is for nasal blockage

Detailed Answer:
HI

The use of the decongestant , as mentioned, would help with the mucus in the nose. A decongestant relieves nasal congestion (nasal blockage), so this would help with this symptom.
Decongestant would be found over the counter at your local pharmacy.

In terms of time frame- the oral decongestant can be used as long as you need it

Topical decongestant, the time would depend on the one that you get: (1)normal saline- can be used as long as needed
(2)xylometazoline or oxymetazoline - for 3 to 5 days

The mucolytic and cough suppressant can be used as long as you need it.

The dose would depend on the one that you are able to get from your local pharmacy.
Both are over the counter and would have dosing information

Please feel free to ask anything else

Brief Answer:
your pharmacist would be able to say which is available

Detailed Answer:
HI

The particular drugs can vary from one country to the next but if these particular meds are not found you can ask your pharmacist for a decongestant that is available there.

Otrivine ( a topical decongestant that is placed in the nose) should be available but again it may be best to ask your pharmacist specifically for the topical decongestants that are available.
He or she would also be able to tell you which oral decongestants can be found. Sudafed (An oral decongestant) may be available

If this is not found, you can buy any over the counter cough and cold or allergy medication because most of these contain decongestants.

If anything else unclear, feel free to ask

Brief Answer:
the oral decongestant can be used for as long as needed

Detailed Answer:
HI

The oral decongestant can be used for as you need it.

The topical one (the one to the nose) can be used for 3 to 5 days.

The mucolytic (medication to help break up the mucus so that it would come out) can also be used for as long as you need.
