Suggest Treatment For Severe Cough And Cold Along With Throat Pain

Me and my husband both are suffering from severe cold and cough for past 4 days. Initially my 13 months old daughter had a viral fever followed by cold and cough it might be due to that or might be because we are exposed to AC in office. I am not sure if this is a viral or bacterial infection. and after 4 days of cough we are not able to see any improvement.
Unfortunately our physician is unavailable during this period. i am attaching a pic of both of our mouth (inner portion) so that you can guide us on the right path.
My husband is taking Loxof 500 for last 4 days along with cetrizine and as i am a lactation mother i am taking AzithroRite-500 for last 2 days. But nothing is of much help which gives me a feeling that the cough is not due to any bacterial attack. However due to prolonged cough now there is pain in my throat too.
Need your advice on the same also please suggest will antibiotics help in case of viral infections. Also wanted to understand the chance of my baby to get affected again from us...
Viral URTI.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query.
1. Viral infections are usually infectious a day or two before symptoms arise. These are normally self limiting but run their course in spite of antibiotics. Antibiotics prevent secondary bacterial infections.
2. If you have picked this up from your child, she is already immune and this will not affect her if it is the same strain of virus. As seen above, any virus will already have been passed on.
3. All medications that are safe in children are fine if you are breast feeding.
4. Take an anti - allergic , mucolytic, anti inflammatory, medicated gargles, cough suppressant and steam inhalation in addition to the antibiotics.
5. Your husband's that seems to be more inflamed than yours in the images attached. Give him similar medication.
6. You should feel better in a couple of days. AC is best avoided at work.
I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any more questions I will be available to answer them.
Regards.
