Suggest Treatment For Severe Dandruff And Hairfall

Question: hello doctor,
My sister has too much dandruff. for that reason so much hair fall also happen. she is also pregnant now. so shampoo or something is there for dandruff.

Hello. Thank you for writing to us

I am dr.kakkar (dermatologist).
I have gone through your query and i have noted your concern.
For her I suggest Steiprox liquid (contains cyclopirox olamine 1.5%). Lather it well onto wet scalp with the help of fingers and allow it to act for 3-5 minutes before rinsing it off. Rinse it off well.
In addition she may use Ultiderm lotion (contains fluocinolone acetonide 0.1%) for overnight scalp application. I suggest her to use ultiderm lotion for 2 weeks and thereafter continue just with the shampoo.
Both these are safe and can be used during pregnancy.
