Question: I got hit by a truck 7 years ago. In my leg I have 12 screws a plate a rod and two pins. I had stiches in the back of my head from hitting my head off the ground. I feel like I can barely function anymore. I feel like my body is shutting down. My,back constantly hurts. I suffer from severe migraines. I also suffer, from panic attacks. I am now suffering from always being tired. All I want to do is sleep. And not enough sleep helps. I'm constantly getting sick. I camt control my emotions anymore. And when,I work to long at work I feel like my heads literally going to explode
I was not in a car when thia happemed
I was crossing the street, and I got,hit head on with a plow hook up on the truck and she ran my legs over. What would the impact of that kind of trauma do to my body 7 years later. I'm only 23 so my doctor always says I'm fine and slapped anxiety meds on me. Dont get me wrong I have anxiety, but there's deeper stuff going on and I am starting to get depressed because eveyone makes me feel lime I'm crazy, but I'm not. I know my body and something is wrong. And I need help. Amd I dont know what else to do.

Brief Answer:
First rule out possible organic causes of symptoms (if you haven't done yet

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for using HCM to post your question.
I read it carefully and I understand your concern.

The impact of that trauma to your body was huge from what I can understand from reading.
What I want to clarify though is that is not likely that those symptoms start now after 7 years as a result of the trauma. What was caused physically in your body and brain was much worse then, started then and may have continued now. But we would not expect new physical symptoms now...except of course possible anxiety and depression.

So having said that, here are my thoughts :
-- You need to rule out a possible anemia or thyroid problem by doing a complete blood count and a TSH. They both are the most common causes of being tired and also most of the symptoms you describe.
-- If those are within normal limits, then you have those symptoms from anxiety and possibly depression. That does not mean that you are crazy. Absolutely not. You really feel those symptoms, because anxiety gives all those symptoms. It is just that we don't find an organic cause to them. And considering your history of the trauma, makes anxiety more possible.
-- My suggestion is that you try the treatment of your doctor for anxiety and give yourself some time. They need 3-4 weeks to take complete action. If you still have symptoms and not feeling well, go see your doctor again. It might need some visits until the dose of the medicines that you need will be decided, but you should start feeling better and better. If not, then it is not the treatment you need.

Hope this is helpful.
Let me know if you need more clarifications.
