Suggest Treatment For Severe Ear Infection With Fluid
It should be gone within 3 months time.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for using HCM,
Otitis media with effusion is one of the most common complications of an ear infection and 75-90% of residual effusion cases, after an episode of acute otitis media resolves spontaneously by 3 months as seen in researches. People who have allergies are more prone to having this complication.
No medications have been proven to improve symptoms or long-term outcomes, neither antibiotics, corticosteroids (oral or nasal), antihistamines or decongestants have been proven to help...if used only for this purpose.
Anyway, cure well your allergy. Keeping nose open in most of the times, may be helpful in draining the fluid.
Consider checking it with your doctor if after 3-6 months it still feels blocked, as tympanostomy tube may need to be inserted to evacuate the fluid, but that is rare.
Hope this is helpful.
Let me know if you need more clarification. I would be happy to answer.
Take care.
