Suggest Treatment For Severe Ear Pain?

Question: I woke up last night several times with an ear ache. when I got up this morning it was still there but not as severe. I went and showered and it seemed to go away. By the time I arrived at work I was getting sharp stabbing pains in the front part of my ear where that little tab is that connects my ear to my face. Pains became so severe that it stopped me dead in my tracks? what could this be caused by?

1. Acute Otitis Media ( AOM ), Referred Pain (for example, dental) and Trigeminal Neuralgia, TM joint disorders are the most common causes for such pain.

2. Ear examination will help differentiate these causes. AOM is likely to affect hearing. The pain typically wakes up the patient at night. This is more likely if you have had a cold recently.

3. Meanwhile an anti inflammatory medication will help soothe the pain. Neuralgic pain will not respond completely to regular painkillers and is usually a stabbing, burning sensation.
