Question: I HAVE BEEN HAVING A PROBLEM WITH MY RIGHT EYE FOR APPROX. ONE YEAR. lT STARTED AS AN ACHING FEELING, GRADUATED TO MAJOR CRAMPING A COUPLE OF TIMES A DAY AND NOW ALONG WITH THE CRAMPING THE EYE, WHEN CLOSED, LOCKS UP AND REQUIRES AN EFFORT TO OPEN IT. MY LEFT EYE IS NOW EXPERIENCING THE EARLY STAG OF THE ABOVE. SEEN TWO SEPARATE DOCTORS ONE SAYS DRY EYE THE OTHER SHRUGGED HIS SHOULDER. THE ONLY LASTING RELIEF I RECEIVED WAS DURING A 30 DAY REGIMENT OF USING A LOW DOSE EYE STERIORD. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Brief Answer:
Multiple sclerosis needs to be ruled out.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. The fact that you are getting relieved by the use of steroids indicates that there is a inflammatory condition possibly associated. Besides, the condition seems progressive. Multiple Sclerosis is a condition to be ruled out. It is an immune system disorder where our systems attack our brain, spine and optic nerves.

I would insist you to ask your ophthalmologist to rule it out. Alternatively, you may see a neurologist.

Feel free to write back.

Regards
