Question : Hi. I want to know if my fatigue is from my diarrhea or am i having hiv acute illness. I have always had protected vaginal and anal sex. Is it possible for unprotected oral sex to spread hiv virus if i am receiving? I aso have a white lesion on the tip of the tongue that is a little bit painful. Is it due to trauma or is it hiv ulcers? Thanks.

                                    Brief Answer:
It is due to trauma or other reason.
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX,
Welcome to HCM.
The risk of getting HIV from oral sex is very less so you need not to worry and you had always vaginal or anal protected intercourse then don't get feared.
Fatigue and diarrhea are not related to HIV. It may be due to some other infection. White lesion on tip of tongue with pain is mostly due to some trauma because HIV ulcers are typically painless as such.
It is better to get tested for HIV to relieve your fear or anxiety related to HIV. For any further query feel free to ask me any time and I am here to help you.
Thank You

I did take a hiv test but it was only 1 week after i had sexual contact. The results were negative. Is testing after 1 week conclusive?

                                    Brief Answer:
No it is not conclusive.
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX,
Welcome back and thanks for follow-up.
Negative HIV test after one week of exposure is reliable but not conclusive so you need to go for repeat test after one month to get more accurate result. Don't get worried because the result will surely come in your favor. Be relaxed and move ahead in life happily with your family.
Thank You
