Question : I AM HAVING PROBLEMS WITH FATIGUE, MULTIPLE MUSCLE AND JOINT PAIN, FREQUENT HEADACHES, MUSCLE ACHES AND DISCOMFORT. I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH FLU 2 WEEKS AGO. I'VE HAD MONO IN THE PAST. IS THIS SOMETHING I NEED TO GET CHECKED OUT? HOW DO I START THIS CONVERSATION WITH MY DOCTOR IN PERSON? THANKS
Brief Answer:
Continue with NSAIDs, rest and good diet!
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Your symptoms following a flu infection are not entirely worrisome as this could represent reactive arthritis and myalgia. My initial plan is that you continue with Tylenol, get enough bed rest, drink much water and eat well. Fruits and regular exercise would also prove helpful. I will not recommend that you see a doctor immediately unless something else sets in like worsening symptoms, fever or swollen joints.
Keep me posted on your progress. I wish you well and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
