Suggest Treatment For Severe Fatigue, Severe Rashes All Over The Body And Swollen Lymph Nodes After Taking Clindomycin HCl And Levoquin

Question: wife was prescribed clindomyacin hcl 300mg 4 times a day as a second round of antibiotics levoquin was the first. diagnosed with four lymph nodes on left side of neck and the most recent on the right side 3cm in size all this in the last 3 weeks. Today the seventh day aheavy rash all over body and a very tired feeling. should we proceed with dose prescribed. we have appt. with radiologist for a sonogram in the am and apossible biopsy if doctor deems necessary. may i please have your input. thank you for your time.

Hi,

The rash could be due to medicine. Please stop all the drugs that she is taking.

If multiple lymph nodes are present, I prefer to do an FNAC (Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology) first. It will give a clue to the diagnosis. If it is inconclusive, One lymph node will be removed by Surgery and send for histopathological examination (Biopsy). This will confirm the diagnosis.

If lymphoma is suspected, then Biopsy should be done. Ultrasound will tell you the number of enlarged lymph nodes and will tell whether the node is solid or filled with liquid (pus?). After Ultrasound, please consult your surgeon and get biopsy.

Nothing to worry. It may not be lymphoma. It could be due to simple infection.
