Brief Answer:
After any severe infection, the body looses millions of cells and needs several months for regeneration

Detailed Answer:
Hi, welcome to HCM,
I've gone through your query and understand your concerns,

After any severe infection, the body looses millions of cells, and it takes several months to regenerate those cells. The body forces us to rest during this period and this is what is happening to your wife.

After a night's rest she has regained some energy, that wanes by noon. Don't force her. She can do light exercise in the morning and again after resting in the afternoon--within limits of her capacity.

Make sure she is getting a good balanced diet with fruits, vegetables, nuts and legumes.

Do let me know if you've any further queries
Regards
