Brief Answer:
Possible FPHL? Need to rule out TE

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Madam.

I can certainly understand your concerns.

I apologize for the delayed response.

Based on your complete medical history and clinical images, you probably seem to have FPHL-female pattern hair loss.

Female pattern hair loss (FPHL) is the most common cause of hair loss in women. The central portion of the scalp is usually affected, sparing the frontal hairline.

Miniaturization of terminal scalp hair and shortening of the anagen growth phase of the hair cycle results in the growth of thinner and shorter hair fibers. Diagnosis is usually made clinically.

This condition can be diagnosed with "pull hair test"( a screening test) and Trichoscopy(video dermatoscopy) is an accurate way to detect this FPHL.

Before considering this condition, it is very important to rule out a similar/look a like condition of hair loss in females called Telogen effluvium(TE).To rule out this more common condition it is important to get the following tests namely

1.Serum ferritin.
2.Serum Vitamin D.
3.Serum Zinc.
4.Serum TSH.

Further management is based on test results.

FPHL can be treated well with wide variety of options. The overall success rate is good.

Post your further queries if any.
Thank you.

Brief Answer:
PRP treatment can be carried out

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Madam.

I can understand your concern.

In such a case, the diagnosis of FPHL is evident in your case.
Let me suggest you the best treatments available for this condition. Please check with your dermatologist if he can prescribe them to you.

1. Latanoprost 0.1% solution applied once daily, has successfully produced a statistically significant improvement in hair density.

2.Low-level Light Therapy.

3.Hair transplantation surgery is considered as an important option for females in whom medical therapy alone has failed to induce an acceptable improvement of hair density. It is an outpatient procedure, which is performed under local anesthesia.

Follicular unit transplantation (FUT) or Follicular unit extraction (FUE) are the current methods in practice.

4.PRP therapy also offers excellent results. You can go ahead with this treatment.

Post your further queries if any.
Thank you.
