Brief Answer:
Continue with finasteride; add topical minoxidil 5% solution

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query and i have also reviewed the image.
I can see that there is decreased hair density at vertex of your scalp.

Thinning and decreased hair density at vertex is typical of androgenetic alopecia.
Androgenetic alopecia is characterized by thinning, hair loss and decreased density from center part of scalp i.e front, mid and vertex of scalp.

Course of androgenetic alopecia is gradually progressive over the years.

Finasteride is quite effective for vertex hair thinning in androgenetic alopecia.
Majority of patients notice decreased hair shedding, reversal of thinning and hair regrowth with continued use of finasteride.
Results are noticeable after 3-6 months, continue to improve and are maximal at 1-2 years of regular use.
Goal of medical treatment is to slow down further progression of hair loss in androgenetic alopecia.
Therefore, earlier the treatment is started better the long term result.

Apart from Finasteride, Minoxidil is also an approved medical treatment in androgenetic alopecia.
Together these two produce additive results in androgenetic alopecia than either of these alone.

Therefore I suggest you to continue with oral finasteride.
You may also add 5% Minoxidil topical solution.

Minoxidil 5% solution is available on prescription and i suggest that you talk to your dermatologist regarding the same.

Brief Answer:
Advice regarding dosing and frequency of finasteride and minoxidil

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

Yes, Finasteride is once per day.
Just skipping a couple of days will not lead to increased shedding but I advice you to be complaint with treatment.
Finasteride can be taken at anytime of day, before or after meals. However, in order to avoid missing a dose you should take it at a set time each day i.e either morning or evening.
Minoxidil solution is to be used 1 ml twice daily, at scalp, on absolutely clean and dry scalp
