Suggest Treatment For Severe Hair Loss

Need more information
Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us
I am dr.kakkar (dermatologist). I have gone through your query and I have noted your concern.
Hair passes through 3 different phases of hair growth cycle i.e Anagen (growth phase), Catagen (Transition phase) and Telogen (Shedding phase).
Normally, a telogen hair that is shed is replaced by a new hair bulb at the base of hair follicle which passes through anagen and forms a new hair shaft. Anagen phase continues for approximately 2 years on scalp before the hair enters Telogen and is shed again.
However, a growing hair may prematurely enter telogen if there is/ are predisposing factors like a preceding illness or surgery or weight loss or post partum and this may manifest as increased hair shedding i.e telogen effluvium
How many hair do you lose per day? It is quite normal to lose upto 50 to 100 hair per day.
How long since you notice this increase in hair fall?Is there a preceding medical history (withing the past few months )of weight loss?medical illness?or surgery?
Regards

Take an Iron supplement and an Oral Biotin supplement.
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Though your hair fall is still within limits, however, a chronic illness like tuberculosis can be a cause for telogen efluvium.
Moreover alopecia due to anti-tuberculosis drug therapy has been described, particularly to isoniazid, thiacetazone and ethionamide.
I suggest you to take an oral Iron supplement as well as an Oral Biotin supplement once daily for 4-6 months.
Regards
