Suggest Treatment For Severe Headache And Pain Above Left Eye

Is this indicative of an ER visit?
If you can get some strong pain killers, no ER visit required
Detailed Answer:
Hello sir.and welcome.
Thank you for writing to us.
I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. Sounds to me like a migraine headache which can be brought about by quite a few conditions and factors, but some of the most common ones are:
+Lack of sleep
+Irregular sleep cycle lately
+Long gaps between meals
+Extreme temperatures (cold or hot)
+Stress
The presentation specifically linked with migraine headaches are the following:
+Pre-migraine headache: A milder headache occurs before the main headache begins
+Aura: An aura can be felt before the headache during which you may have visual disturbances, defects in vision, floaters in the visual field, etc.
+Migraine: A one-sided headache that can be described by the following specifications:
-One sided headache
-Pain behind the eye or around it
-Irritation or aggravation from sound (mainly loud noises)
-Irritation of aggravation to light
-Visual disturbances
Treatment usually includes the following sir:
+Treating the source (e.g. if lack of sleep, then get sleep; if lack of food then eat food, etc.)
+Use of triptans (e.g. sumatriptan) or propranolol to control the headache
An ER visit may not really be required if you can get your hands on some strong pain management medications or the medication I have specifically mentioned above. If not, then your headache may last way over 8 hours, and unless you are prepared for that, you may have to visit the ER sir.
You can write back to me with the pain killers you have and I can tell you what to do. But for now, you can try and place your feet in ice cold water for as long as tolerated, this may help reduce the blood circulating to the lower extremities and thus reduce the intensity of the headache.
I hope you find my response helpful and informative. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I would be more than happy to help.
Best wishes.
