Suggest Treatment For Severe Headaches And Dizziness

Question: My dad has a severe headache and seems to be hallucinating. He is on the following medications:
Diltiazen (189 mg) fir High BP and angina
Finasterideide (5 mg) for prostate
Levothhyroxine (50 mg) for Thyroid
Pavastatine (40 mg) for cholesterol
Metformin HCL (250 mg) for diabetes
Pantoprazole (40 mg) Acid reducer
He had bowel surgery on 28 May 14 and now has a colostomy bag. While in hosp nurses have him a dose of a pain killer and Adavan to relax him! He was doing fine until that. Now he is home and has this severe headache, weakness and dizziness. We hesitate to take him back to hops because they just fill him with more drugs. He is 87. Any suggestions? He has dozed off for the moment. Thanks!!

Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir,
Thank you for posting your query on HCM.
Well looking into the problem I would like to tell you that when people have colostomy bags they are prone to elctrolyte disturbances so I will advise to get his sodium and potassium levels checked . For headache you can see if tramadol can cure it coz it will be a safe option . But it will be difficult to say anything based on these complaints as he is having multiple morbidities . His BP also needs to be checked as hypertension may also give rise to headaches . You will need to see a physician for this as his symptoms need assessment .
Take care.
