Hello
Thank You for contacting HCM. My name is Dr Muhammad Ali Rauf & i will look into your problem.
I have gone through your query and would try to help you in the best possible way. There are a number of treatment options for HO but none is definitive. Following measures help to reduce the severity:
- Physical therapy
- indomethacin SR(NSAID) 75mg/day for 3 weeks , after SCI
- rofecoxib 25mg/day
There are other medicines as well but they require disease current status. I would suggest you to visit hospital and get an appointment for a "Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon" for detailed discussion on management.
Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help if not then don't forget to close the discussion and rate it.
Wishing you good health !!
I realize you can't predict qualitative environmental outcomes, but if you could itemize some of the pro's and con's of having this procedure done, perhaps I could make a more informed decision as to whether this "Radical Proximal Femoral Resection" surgery would have an overall positive or negative impact on my life.
Thank you in advance for looking into this important medical issue for me.

Hello
The only significant negative effect of "Radical Proximal Femoral Resection" apart from surgical complications is that patient can Not walk without support. Ischial weight bearing Aid is used in such cases afterwards for walking. Positive impact is that the diseased/tumor segment of the bone is removed from the body which will not cause further damage.
Thank You
