Suggest Treatment For Severe Hip Pain

Cause of the hip pain needs to be determined
Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome
I appreciate your concern
Cause of the hip pain needs to be determined. It can be related to hip arthritis. X ray lumbosacral spine (AP and Lateral views ) should be taken and an MRI advised if hip pathology is suspected on physical examination. You can share the radiological reports here with me or with your doctor. Till then NSAIDs , cartilage protective agents like glucosamine and physiotherapy can be advised. Gabapentin and cortisone shot can be given additionally if the pain is severe. Knee pathology and hip issues can overlap so the knee should also be examined and worked up. Osteoporosis can also be a possibility in addition to spine compression. An experienced physician can ascertain osteoporosis from physical examination and an x ray of the spine alone. However, dexa scan and vitamin D, calcium levels and supplementation can be dealt with once the line of diagnostic workup is made. Urinalysis and an ultrasound abdomen pelvis +/_ X ray KUB may also be done to look for a urinary tract stone or infection.
Wishing you best of health
Thanks
