Can you please advise us what to do?
Brief Answer:
Diabetic neuropathy management guideline...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I have gone through the medical history of your husband and feel sorry for the situation he is in.
Your husband does have type 2 diabetes. Peripheral neuropathy is one of the long-term complications of diabetes. The symptoms include pain (Neuralgia).
I usually use the following guidelines to my diabetic patients who have neuropathy:
- should control blood sugar levels
- schedule physio-therapy massaging
- take multivitamin supplementation (vit.B complex)
- take pain-killers. If Tegretol is not helping, then, ask your doctor to prescribe another powerful analgesic until pain is relieved.
I also advise to keep following up with neurologist and physio-therapist.
Hope it was of help! Let me know if you have further queries!
