Question: Hi
My mother age is 48. She is having a severe pain in Knee. A RA factor was identified in the tested reports. Also the space b/w knee joint is reduced as per the X-Ray. What should be the recommended steps to cure her completely.

Usually raised RA factor is associated with Rheumatoid arthritis.

I would advise you to get her Anti-CCP blood test which is better at confirming Rheumatoid arthritis. Also get Compete blood count Liver and Renal function blood tests done.

If Anti-CCP is positive, we can start her on specific drugs for Rheumatoid arthritis.

Apply ice to the affected region. Avoid squatting, cross leg sitting, climbing stairs and kneeling. Perform Physiotherapy in the form of VMO and Quadriceps strengthening exercises.

She can take NSAID medication for reducing pain like Tablet Ibuprofen 400mg twice a day for 5 days which is over the counter Medicine.
