Suggest Treatment For Severe Left-sided Headaches After Sinus Cold
Question: For almost eight months now I have suffered severe headaches on the left side of my head. This started after a sinus cold. I get face pain, pain in my forehead, my head and the back of my head. The pain is very severe, like a drill is going in my head. Its worse at night, I wake up @ 3:00 with severe pain. Tylenol 3 usually subsides it. I have had a cat scan done, with no obvious reasons for the pain (I have a metal plate in my forehead from A previous surgery for a benign pituitary tumour in 1973, which does not allow the doctor to see all of the cat scan) I have no aura, vomitting or light problems (Ive had migraines before, this is different) Worse when I lie down. I have quit alcohol, coffee and am just about finished a Yeast buster cleanse. My pain is getting worse, and more frequent. My family doctor says he doesn't know what to do with me. I have fluid in my right ear (my headaches are on the eft side). I have tried to be positive for healing, but I have come to the end of my rope, feeling hopeless and very depressed. I am very afraid.
Brief Answer:
Upload your scan images.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query.
1. It will help if you upload the scan images.
2. The timing of the headache suggests frontal sinusitis.
3. Balloon sinuplasty is an option if medication such as steroid nasal sprays, anti - allergic decongestants and steam inhalation fails.
4. A neuralgia can be a cause of such a severe headache.
5. Other causes of headaches must be ruled out by a neurologist if the scan images are normal.
I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any more questions I will be available to answer them.
Regards.
