Suggest Treatment For Severe Migraine

default
Posted on Tue, 24 Jan 2017
Question: I am a female, 55 years old. No health problems except occasional migraine headaches which I normally can catch in time and take an over the counter mediation.
For the past few weeks I have had an occasional "pinching" feeling in the center of my chest.
For the past day it has been persistent and I feel it every 15 minutes or so. Not painful, just like someone is pinching me from the inside. It is not to one side - just feels like under the breast bone.
Not sure if I should take it seriously or not.

Brief Answer:
It's better to consult your PCP or a cardiologist.

Detailed Answer:
Hello xxxxx,

Thanks for posting your query on HCM.

There can be many causes of chest pain depending on from which structure it is arising. Though the character of your pain does not sound alarming(It sounds more like a superficial nerve getting irritated) but any chest pain lasting for long should not be ignored esp in the age group that you are in.

Hence I will suggest that you consult your PCP or a cardiologist and get a complete heart work up done. It will remove all the doubts from your mind as well.

Hope this answers your query. Feel free to ask if any further queries.
Take care.
