Suggest Treatment For Severe Muscle Cramps

Needs assessment and correlation
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking
I read your question and i understand your concern. Muscle cramps can be painful and difficult to live with sometimes. At age of 86 there could be multiple causes for it. Most of these cramps irrespective of the age are benign and self resolving or may need home remedies for management.
Narrowing of vascular supply specially in peripheral vessels of limbs is the commonest cause of muscle cramps in old age. Nerve compression in spine may be causing these cramps . Too little potassium, calcium or magnesium in your diet can contribute to leg cramps. Diuretics — medications often prescribed for high blood pressure — may also deplete these minerals.
Add some skelaxin with advil and vitamin B complex to see if it helps. Stretch and massage the affected muscles and continue applying heating pads over it. Stay well hydrate and avoid dehydration. If the problem still persists , you will need to talk to a doctor and let them clinically correlate your symptoms for you.
I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.
