Suggest Treatment For Severe Muscle Cramps
Question: What causes severe leg muscle cramping in the calf and lower side muscles of the leg?
Brief Answer:
Potassuim deficiency most likely
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Muscle cramps are most commonly caused by potassuim defficiency. I'd suggest you get a blood test of your potassuim levels and if low , you should start potassuim supplements.
Meanwhile, if your calf muscles become swollen or red and/ tender to touch then please go to the hospital as there may be an element of Deep vein thrombosis involved.
