Suggest Treatment For Severe Nausea And Vomiting

Question: Hello my name is XXXXXXX XXXX and I have been nauseous and vomiting for about 12 hours or so was wondering if I could get something for it or if there is something else I can do.

Have gone through your details. As per your history most likely you are suffering from acute gastroenteritis. Gastroenteritis is inflammation of gastrointestinal tract as a result of infection by either bacteria,protozoa or virus.Most of the time stomach flu is viral and self limiting in nature and takes about 5-7 days.
I would strongly suggest you to go for stool test to rule out bacterial or protozoal infection as in that case antibiotic therapy would be given for 5 days.

As of now take anti emetic like prochlorperazine maleate(stemetil) for symptomatic relief in nausea and vomiting along with Nexium 40mg twice daily.

Start taking a Probiotic like Econorm thrice daily. Gastroenteritis destroys good bacteria of intestines a cousre of probiotics should be taken to help them florish again.

Apart from that keep yourself hydrated and drink plenty of water and electrolytes.
Orange juice and coconut water is rich in potassium and should be taken in large quantities.
Keep a watch on your vitals in case blood pressure is less then 100mm of hg systolic and pulse is feeble, Contact the nearest emergency room.
