Suggest Treatment For Severe Nose Bleeds When On Medications

I have never had nose bleed before but quite unexpected and severe last night when I arrived home about 1 AM. I stopped it quite quickly by putting a little pressure on my left nostril. Took no medication and stopped my flu medication (see below)
I am 66 in good health generally and very fit. I do have cold so am on antibiotics (amoxicillin) and had taken Codral cold and flu tablets as prescribed on box morning day and night.
I also took Cialis early in the evening same time as the Amoxycillin and wondering if this combination was the cause (or contributed to it) ?
Thanks for your advice

cialis and amoxycllin have no interaction
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I am Dr.Rajesh Teli, MD. I have gone through your query.
First lets discuss about nasal bleed i.e. epistaxis. In your case you have cold, it is known that congested nostril may be bleed and it stops by minor compression (as in your case). I hope you are not hypertensive as high BP is associated with epistaxis and the bleeding is heavy and forces patient to rush to ER. It is unlikely in your case.
If bleeding recurs you should consult ENT surgeon to look for local cause. The doctor can check your blood pressure too. You should complete course of amoxycillin for 7 days.
Cialis has no interaction with amoxycillin and is not the cause of bleeding.
I hope I have satisfied your query,
My best wishes,
Dr. Rajesh Teli, MD
