Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain After Insertion Of Rod In Hip

Question: I just recently suffered a very horrible injury when my ex girlfriend hit me with a suv 3 times. My femur was broken in 3 places and my pelvis was cracked. This just happened on Christmas night and the doctor is has already cut me off of the pain meds,what should i do?

I had a rod inserted through my knee and attached at the hip. I dont have copies of the Xrays. The doctor that is in charge is Dr. Rudloph at Campbell's Clinic. The doctors around here are telling me to get meds from him but he isnt going to give me anymore. Please help any way you can

I am not sure why you have this severe pain post operatively. Most patients do not require every day pain medicine. You can take over the counter pain reliever medicine such as ibuprofen whenever you have pain.

If it doesn't suffice, then I will recommend you look for the cause of the pain rather than being on every day pain medication. I am sure the treating orthopedician will have idea about what is causing the pain and the means to treat it.
