Question: I have pain in my right leg above the ankle. It feels like my blood vessels are swollen. That area is swollen and the is a low level pain that accompanies any movement. This is not due to any injury, such as a sprained ankle or a bruise.

Brief Answer:
soft tissue inflammation

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Hope this message finds you in good health.
I have gone through your complaints and understand your concern.
I generally see many cases like this at my clinic and have found out that any sort of soft tissue swelling can cause such kind of pain.
In your case, you dont seem to have injured or strained yourself.
In such cases, there are a few possibilities
1. early varicose veins- due to prolonged standing
2. tendinitis- inflammation of a tendon
3. muscle inflammation
4. generalised blood derangements like raised uric acid causing deposition of uric acid crystals.

I would suggest you a few things
Try taking analgesics,anti-inflammatory tablets, rest, hot fomentation and a crepe bandage.
If it does not get relieved, get a doppler study of that leg to rule out varicose veins or any problem in the blood vessels.
A USG of that part will also be useful.
A detailed blood profile will tell about any abnormalities in blood

You should eventually get back to normal in coming few days.Nothing to worry about.
I hope your question has been answered.
If you have any follow-up queries, feel free to consult me anytime.
Thanks,Take care,God bless.

Hi
Welcome back
usg means ULTRA SONOGRAPHY - like we do for abdomen,or stomach pain.

It can differentiate in what tissue exactly the swelling and inflammation is.
