Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain And Tingling Sensation In The Thighs
Question: Developed sudden strong pain along inside of right thigh early this morning. No apparent cause, not exercising past 2 days and haven't strained anything lately. It causes tingling all the way down to ankle too.
Brief Answer:
Muscle strain
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for the query. seeing you as 52 yr old,
If it is sudden stain right after your sleep in the morning, it could be muscle strain. a light massage over it will ease the spasm, release the nerve, vessels and increase blood supply. Hot water fomentation would ease the spasm. Dehydration, poor muscle tone are apparent causes, some times electrolyte imbalance and mineral deficiency are found too.
Have a lot decaffeinated liquids, rest and do not exercise till pain completely subsides.
If extends the pain see the local pcp.

No, i am very fit. Its not related to muscle strain. Also, i have been resting for 2 days and had not experienced any strain prior to rest. This is different. It is a vague pain over the entire inside center of my thigh and is also causing tingling down into my calf and foot. Im quite aware of what muscle strain feels like. This is not that.
Brief Answer:
Nerve entrapment
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
If it is more of sensory symptoms with numbness and tingling with vague pain, it is nerve entrapment. The trapping can be at spine level or muscular level. You might need an MRI of the spine to check which level is involved.
Besides vitamin deficiency especially B vitamin should be checked.
Please see a spine surgeon for this.
