Brief Answer:
Remedies like Phenylbutazone, Swimming, Joint replacement for severe arthri

Detailed Answer:
Hi there.

Ankylosing spondylitis is a multisystemic disorder of autoimmune aetiology. You may have stiff joints in the lower back, heart problems, vision problems etc.

For the pain I usually prescribe Tablet Ibuprofen 400mg twice a day and Tablet Phenylbutazone. Phenylbutazone is specific Medicine for Ankylosing spondylitis.

Also if you know swimming it is the best treatment for this condition and helps to improve joint motion.

Apply hot water bag to the painful joints.

If you have difficulty in walking and hip pain, it needs to be rule out for arthritis which may require hip replacement. An Orthopaedic surgeon needs to examine you to diagnose arthritis of the hips and plan management.

I hope I have answered your query.

I will be available to answer your follow up queries.

Brief Answer:
Hot packs, Swimming, Joint replacement

Detailed Answer:
The joints in your entire spine are affected including the spine in the neck region which is why you experience stiffness.

You may be having severe arthritis of the hip joint so kindly get an Xray of pelvis with both hips and try to upload it for me to be in a better position to help you.

Apply hot water bag at the painful sites. Avoid bending the neck much. Try to do swimming.

I hope I have answered your query.

Brief Answer:
Osteoarthritis mild. Kindly post spine X-rays

Detailed Answer:
Hi there.

This X-ray shows mild osteoarthritis in both hips, more on the right side. Also the sacro-iliac joint spaces appear narrow which can be contributing to pain.

It would be helpful to show me your spine X-ray which is more specific in the diagnosis of Ankylosing spondylitis.
