Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain Due To Muscle Sprain
Question: I took fall yesterday morning, landing mostly on my left side... No signs of protrusions or black and blue or bulges. Put ice on it...had to go out twice for long periods forwork... No major problemm in walking or breathing, except for anxiety. Came home after a cold outdoor event, and once again did ice on the left side. Pain is generally only when i get up from lying or sitting positions for extended periods. No breathing problems except for expected allergies or sinus.....Eating well....Sleeping ok...no problems sitting here and typing....Should i continue ice? or when should i switch to heat? I realize this t akes a long time, but must return to work...no major movement there....mostly driving to and from work, and going in and out with car, or sitting at computer (pain when getting up).

Dear Friend.
Welcome to HCM. I am Dr Anshul Varshney. I understand your concern.
If there is any swelling, restrictions of movement or severe pain then you might require an X ray of the part.
But it seems you just have muscular sprain.
So you can start doing hot fomentation.
If you have pain you may also apply local pain killer gel like Volini gel over the affected area.
If you have difficulty in sleeping due to pain you may take a combination of Acetaminophen and Tramadol.
I hope you would recover in 5-7 days.
If you have any further query please ask me.
Stay Healthy.
