Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain During Urination
Thanks. XXXXX
Please specify your urinary problems in detail
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks fr query .Based on the facts that you have Bilateral Osteo Arthritis of the knee joints and need Bilateral knee replacements .But the surgery is being considered to be high risk on the grounds of you having Cardiac problems and Urinary problems .
I shall be happy if you can post me few more details to help me in making comments on your problem.
1) What are your urinary problems apart from increased frequency for urination ?
The urinary problems at this age in females are mostly due to UTI resulting from incomplete emptying of bladder due to senile narrowing of urethral passage (Urethral Stenosis ) However this can be corrected and cured by urethral calibration and taking appropriate antibiotics .
As regards cardiac problems doing angioplasty will help to improve cardiac circulation and ejection factor .
With due precaution and proper preoperative assessment , treatment and advancement in field of anesthesia and surgery I think the risk involved in surgery of knee replacement can be minimized .
Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions , I shall be happy to help you .
Thanks and Regards.

I do not have a urinary problem other than frequency and also have a very dry mouth. The pharmacist said this was due to meds.
I also have a kidney problem and am in the final stage. This doctor said I am high risk.
I also have many heart problems. I had 2 heart attacks while in hospital having the angioplasties. Still don't know what to do with increasing pain. Thanks Dr. Pati. XXXXX
You have to carry on with pain killers that you can tolerate
Detailed Answer:
hello
Thanks for follow up .
I feel very sorry for the misery you are going through .Looking at the multiples health issues that you have your Dr has rightly decided not to operate upon you .
Unfortunately you will have to carry on with pain killers at tolearble levels
Thanks and Regards.

Due to a liver transplant (NASH) in 2008 at Northwestern, I am not allowed to take pain killers. I am not suffering too much at this point. FYI... the urination problem is not at all a factor in this problem. The lack of leg circulation is a big factor. I'm sure the heart arteries are clogged too. There is no "tolerable level" for pain killers. I do an INR blood test every month and pain killers affect those numbers.
I am not in misery at this time. Perhaps a new procedure will come along that I can go through. We should be moving forward in medicine and I hope to hear of something new and helpful. Thanks! XXXX

Hello
Thanks for follow up .
Follow the guide lines and treatment advocated by your cardiologist .The decision regarding knee transplant can be considered after few months depending upon the status of circulation in legs .
