Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In The Hips
Question: went to dr. for gout flare3 days ago got medication indomethacin. relieved most pain still have terrible pain in hip getting worse
Brief Answer:
gout unlikely causing the hip pain
Detailed Answer:
hi,
generally gout does not cause pain in hip region.
it is mostly peripheral joints like toes or ankles.
so this could be a strain or a nerve pain.
you can take rest, apply ice or heat as you prefer.
indomethacin may also help.
if not helping medication for nerve pain like pregabalin may be helpful.
hope that helps.

i have psoriatic arthritis do you think the gout might have set it off.tried heat, ice, and rest still have drilling pain. nothing seem to work tylenol, ibruprofen or indomethacin. only thing that even comes close is the blue pain relieving gel but doesn't last long hour or so
Brief Answer:
psoriatic arthritis may be the cause of hip pain
Detailed Answer:
hi
yes that is something that could have caused it and psoriatic arthritis can definitely cause hip pain.
NSAIDs should generally work.
injectable NSAID may be tried or try with your oral nsaid or change over to another one like arcoxia . try to take it for a few days, because it is inflammation which should die down. another option is a steroid for pain however that can sometimes flare the psoriasis.
hope that helps
