Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In The Knee

they should help
Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
Yes, physiotherapy would help. It is used to strengthen the muscles around the knee to stabilize it and reduce the pain that you are experiencing.
The degree of pain reduction varies from one person to the next.
It would not be complete relief of pain but there should be improvement.
Leg braces would also provide some relief. They would also help with stabilization of the joint and helping you to maintain alignment of the joint.
This would aid in pain reduction.
These two methods should help somewhat to reduce your discomfort but there would likely still be pain remaining though it may be more manageable
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions

Does an injury to the tissue in he leg heal automatically after a period of time, or does it have to be surgically repaired?
I had an ependymoma removed from L-1 and L-2 in 1989. MRIs reveal all of the tumor was extracted. Do you think some of the leg pains could be caused by the previous surgery to this area of the spine. The pain I am experiencing started months after the injury to the left leg. So which do you think is the culprit....the previous surgery to the spine or the injury to the leg.
Thank you.
unloader/offloader brace
Detailed Answer:
HI
sorry about the delayed reply
You may want to try a unloader/offloader knee brace. These braces are designed to try to reduce the stress at the joint and stabilze it. They are specifically indicated in the different types of arthritis.
There are different brands but if you search for unloader brace , you would find the different types and can choose one that best suits you.
Most injuries usually heal but the way that this occurs varies. Healing may occur as it should or it may not be complete or be delayed or the injured areas may heal in an abnormal way causing complications
In some cases, the reason for surgical repair , is to allow for proper healing to occur. Not necessary in all cases but definitely in some.
L1 and L2 are responsible for feeling in the some of the back and side of the thigh. If nerves in this area where affected, would usually cause pain in these areas mainly.
The recent injury is most likely the culprit in this case because of the location of the pain
