Pian killers, physiotherapy and sometimes knee replacement surgery

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for asking at HCM.
I carefully read your question and understand your concern.

Knee pain is very devastating and might prevent you from daily functions and really affect the ability to walk around or go for walks.
There are several causes of the knee pain but by what you explain having constant pain and fluid taken from the knee the most likely cause is ostheoarthritis.
Ostheoarthritis is a knee pain due to chronic friction on the knee joint surfaces and damage of those surfaces including the cartilago and later the bones.
It is a mechanical issue and some things might be benefitial but the usual outcome is continuous damage of the surface with surgery for knee replacement being needed.

Things that might be helpful or to be aware of:
1. weightloss- because the knee is a big joint that holds the body weight, weight reduction might help release the pain
2. Physiotherapy might be helpful to help muscles relax and strengthen and release some of the pain
3. paracetamol and sometimes associated with codeine can be used for pain. You can not use ibuprofen as you are allergic to it.
4. local warm compresses might help feel better for a while
5. If the pain is not managed with this you will need an MRI of the knee to better see the knee structures and explore the need for knee replacement surgery
6. If you have redness and swelling of the knee area than more severe diseases like infection (this is an emergency) or immunce diseases should be ruled out.

I hope this is helpful to you and answers to your questions but please feel free to write me if anymore clarifications are needed.

I wish you will get better soon,

Kind regards
