Question: Hi Doctor,
This is in regards to the concern my daughter has been facing. If she is playing all day , she has pain in her legs. It doesnt even allow her to sleep peacefully. This has been the case since she was 3 yrs old. Our doctor mentioned that it is due to constipation. However I doubt that there could be other reasons. Please advise.

Brief Answer:
Looks like growth pains

Detailed Answer:
Hi... I understand your concern.By what you say this looks like growth pains. The other possibilities are that it could be due to fatigue or vitamin D deficiency.

Constipation does not cause leg pains and that too up to the extent of causing sleep disturbance.

I suggest you get a vitamin D level of your daughter and then based on the report we can proceed further.

Regards - Dr. Sumanth
