Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In The Lower Leg

Question: Dear dr XXXXXXX
As we had discussed earlier my wife was well after the physiotherapy. We had been out of station for a holiday. Where she had to walk from hotel. After returning from holiday the pain had increased. The pain is not in the waist. Its on the right leg on the lower part below knee, on the side. The sensation is like a string pulling. We still have a travelling next week although i will not allow her to walk much. Do you think we should see the physiotherapist again? We need your help.

Brief Answer:
Muscle spasm likely.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The pain that you have described is likely to be due to a muscle pull. This can be relieved with rest hot compress and an oral muscle relaxant like Tolagin 4 mg twice a day after meals.
She can also apply a local analgesic gel like Volini gel for relief. Physiotherapy at the time of pain is not advisable. it will help after the pain has subsided.
I hope this answers your query.
In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.
Wishing you good health.
