Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In The Right Foot

default
Posted on Tue, 9 May 2017
Question: I have had pain in the cuneiform bone of my right foot fore about five days, getting more severe; it is painful to touch the area. At first ai thought it might be from inserts I had put in shoes (removed three days ago) but swelling, beginning two days ago makes me think I might have been bittten by an insect while doing yard work last Wednesday. This morning, there is a slight discoloration just below the base of where it hurts most. There is some residual pain just sitting, alleviated somewhat by raising the foot.

Hi and thanks for contacting us at healthcare magic.

I have reviewed your information fully and this could be a swelling resulting from an insect bite or maybe not. To make the difference, it is a good idea to at least inspect this area by obtaining an image from you. Furthermore, this will help me determine whether there is an infection or not as this is very important in proposing a a management plan.

Attached is photo. There is nothing to indicate an insect bite, but in a pile of leaves I was raking I did see several insects I had disturbed.

Brief Answer:
This s certainly not suggestive of an insect bite!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have reviewed this image. It is for sure not an insect bite. This is more of irritation from probably something that touched your leg during the yard work process. I will suggest that you apply a low dose steroid cream for relief. There is no need for an antibiotic. Also, keep dry and clean from and avoid tight fitting shoes for now.

I hope this helps. I wish you well.
