Suggest Treatment For Severe Sciatica Pain With No Relief Along With Back Pain And A Bad Headache

Question: i am having severe siatica pain with no relief -- this is the third day. i have tried ibuprofin -- no help. along with back pain i have a bad headache.

Ibuprofen alone is generally inadequate.

Hi I am Dr Gopal Goel Orthopedic Surgeon.
Sciatica pain is very bad pain and ibuprofen alone may not be of much help.
I recommend a combination of Tramadol and paracetamol and muscle relaxant to all my patients of sciatica ,along with short bed rest.
To know the exact cause of sciatica It is always better to go for MRI of lower spine.
In addition , physiotherapy and lumbar belt will help in short run.

Paracetamol is available over the counter. However the combination of tramadol and paracetamol is a prescription drug. Your doctor will know about it.
