Suggest Treatment For Severe Sore Throat, Ear Pain, Nausea And Dizziness?
Acute pharyngitis
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for posting the query
After going through the history I am of the opinion that you are suffering from acute pharyngitis (infection of the pharynx). The nausea, tiredness and dizziness are normally present during the phase of acute infection. The pain in the ear could be a referred pain from the throat, as both the throat and the nose shares a similar innervation.
My suggestions to you are:
1. Consult your doctor for a complete evaluation of the ear nose and the throat.
2. You may require broad spectrum oral antibiotics, to take care of the infection.
3. Drink plenty of warm water, this reduces the inflammation.
4. Try taking OTC anti-inflammatory medicines such as ibuprofen or diclofenac.
5. Povidone iodine throat spray or gargles are beneficial in reducing the inflammation of the throat and reducing the bacterial load.
6. Avoid coffee/chilled food and beverages/greasy food/smoking, if any.
Hope with the above measures you should get better. Revert back to me if you have any follow-up queries.
Regards
