Hello,
Thank you for using HCM to post your health query.
I read carefully your question and I understand your concern.
It can be a normal reaction if your environment has been more hot, or you have been wearing thicker clothes then usual. It is the way the body realises heat if the temperature in the environment it is more higher then the body temperature.
But, it can also be pathological. Is sweating something you do usually, or is it a new thing for you? Have you have fever these days? Any other symptoms?
Also, when have you checked your blood for the last time? Do you have any chronic problem that you suffer from?
Let me know these information and I will be happy to give my professional opinion.
Looking forward to your follow up question
Regards,
Dr. Papaqako
I got my blood work done around 2 to 3 weeks ago and my doctor told me everything was "good" ( in the normal levels).
for the eviroment: I sleep with an A/C and barly clothes on and that's why I was concerned.
I personally dont have any conditions at the moment or any illness that I I know of.
-I do work 10 to 12 hours a day and it gets really stressful sometimes ( because I have to do a lot of thinking and physical work)
- I probably get around 5 to 6 hours of sleep a day when Im lucky 7 full hours
- I also drink once a day a 5 hour energy (the picture that I put on the attachment)
if you need any more details feel free to ask.
Will need again more information. Have suggested the next steps.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for the information you provided and for the follow-up question.
A complaint of night sweats its common in my practice, but it need a thorough history and physical examination.
I will try to rule some possibilities out, considering the information you have given me above and lead you to the next steps.
-- First thing we think its Fever, and as I understand it you don't have it these days that you are having sweats. Make sure you don't, by checking it for 1 week in a row before sleeping.
-- Second it is if you have other symptoms like fatigue, itchiness in your body, weight loss- because the night sweats combined with all the above would suggest for a lymphoma, especially if the night sweats happen after you have been drinking alcohol.
-- In the tests that you have done, have you checked your thyroid function? TSH is the correct lab test which will help us.
-- Also how are your risks of having sexually transmitted infection and HIV? Can we rule those out?
-- How it is your risk of having tuberculosis? Have you been travelling in places where it is endemic? It would be ruled out by a blood test called Quantiferon-TB Gold or a chest x-ray, or both.
-- About the drink you are taking...can you stop it for some time and see if the sweating are reduced. Also, if you are taking any other medication I will need to know what so I can check if those cause sweating.
I'm sorry these are a lot of things, but it is a wide range of problems who can cause night sweats. So I will need you cooperation in order to go through them and to help you rule them out.
Looking forward to your follow-up question.

- I do have symptoms of fatigue, occasionally itchiness but I think that's because I work in a warehouse and it might get dusty also I don't feel like I loosen weight but I do feel bloated of my abdominal area with sometimes a little discomfort. my stool is consistent with some abdominal discomfort and soft stool.
and I have notice when I drink beer it has happended that I wake up in the middle of the night drenched in sweat.
I have been maried for a wile now and dont think I'm in risk of HIV or any other sexual transmitted inflection (we also got tested when we did the blood work weeks ago.
Lymphoma its a posibility. Rule it out.
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX,
Thank you for the information.
Please follow the steps mentioned in the previous answer. You need to rule out Lymphoma because it is a possibility. For that do a complete blood count and see yourself to a hematologist. Make sure you get checked for lymph nodes in the typical areas, from a doctor during a physical examination.
Thats good we ruled out sexually transmitted infections. But follow the other steps or talk with your local physician about ruling out the others.
Take care of yourself.
All the best,
Dr.Papaqako
