Brief Answer:
Estrogen deficiency or hyperthyroidism

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Profuse sweating can be due to hot flushes after removal of ovaries during hysterectomy.
However, there are other causes of profused sweating like hyperthyroidism, in which there are excess of thyroid hormones in the body.
Metformin has no role in reducing the sweating as it has the effect on sugar metabolism.
Please do convey to me whether your ovaries were removed during hysterectomy, as further management should be done accordingly.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Please do get back to me with the information, if feasible.
Wishing you good health.

Brief Answer:
Likely estrogen deficiency

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear, thanks for responding.
Removal of ovaries lead to estrogen deficiency in the body leading to hot flushes and disturbed thermoregulation in the body. This is most likely the reason of your excessive sweating.
However, I will suggest you to get your thyroid hormone levels done to rule out any hyperthyroidism.
If there is no thyroid hormone disorder, then you should take hormone replacement therapy for effective treatment.
Hope you found the answer helpful.

Wishing you good health.
