Yes you may take lozenges as it will keep the oropharynx moist and prevent further irritation.

As for food, yes you can take chicken provided not made in a spicy method. You are required to take lots of fruit juices, soft bland diet like rice, soup, porridge etc.

I would also suggest you to take Tab. Sinarest once daily for 3 days, which will also help in reducing the sensitization towards cold or any dust.
