Suggest Treatment For Severe Vaginal Itching

Yeast infection and vaginal atrophy likely- pap smear and ultrasound needed
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for asking at HCM.
I carefully read your question and understand your concern.
Vaginal ithcyness can cause bleeding also due to local trauma and also bleeding can happen independantly from the itchyness.
There are several causes of the vaginal itchyness you are feeling. A common cause of vaginal itchyness in patients with diabetes is yeast infection (candida infection). This would also cause some white thick secretions. The treatment for it would be vaginal pills with clotrimazole at night for a few nights.
Another cause of vaginal itchyness in a woman in menopause would be vaginal atrophy and sometimes takin local estrogen intravaginally might help with the symptoms and till you find some estrogen having some vaginal lubricant might bring some release.
Normally vaginal bleeding after menopause demands evaluation with vaginal ultrasound to check for the thickness of the uterine inner layer and also a pap smear should be done if you have not had one in 3 years.
So to conclude you will need:
1. a vaginal ultrasound and vaginal sexamination to visualize the source of the bleeding
2. Have a pap smear if have not had it in the last 3 years
3. if the above tests are normal try a treatment with vaginal clotrimazole for a few days or one single oral dose of fluconazole 150 mg.
4. Trying vaginal lubricants and local estrogen application might help with vaginal attrophy and improve symptoms.
5. Avoid vaginal douching and do not use detergents or parfumed things for the local hygiene in the intimate area to prevent allergic reactions.
I hope this is helpful and answers to your question.
I wish you quick improvement
Kind regards
