Suggest Treatment For Severe Vomiting When Diagnosed With Cellulitis On The Leg

default
Posted on Mon, 19 Sep 2016
Question: had cellulitis in leg which triggered severe nausea and violent vomiting. Because of probable dehydration issues I blamed dizziness and unbalance on that. Nausesa never subsided. After 7 days of no oral intake went to the hospital. I had been on oral antibx. redness was increasing, still had fever. admitted, iv fluids and antibx. Went on oral antibx. No further vomiting but nausea continued. After no intake for 21 days back to hospital. more iv"s. Finally had BM that looked like possible obstruction. Finally nausea subsided. sStill unbalanced. 9 days ago I went to the show and couln't lay down. the longer i was up the less unbalance I felt. Today I can walk farther and no standby assist. But uneven ground, darkness, bending, turning not improved. I diagnosed myself with Vertigo due to longstanding "fluid" in left ear. Could vomiting been possible cause? I see my Dr. for the first time tomorrow and not open to input and could use a "maybe" from someone else. Possible tests to help?

Brief Answer:
Can be due to vomiting, BPPV, etc.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The vertigo that you have could be due to a middle ear problem or BPPV. It can be triggered by electrolyte imbalance caused by persistent vomiting and lack of adequate oral intake.
Complications from diabetes can cause arteriosclerosis (hardening of the arteries) which can lead to lowered blood flow to the brain, causing symptoms like you have.
You need an evaluation by an ENT specialist and an MRI scan for proper diagnosis.
I hope this answers your query.
