Suggest Treatment For Sharp Intermittent Chest Pain
Question: Hi! I have been experiencing sharp, intermittent chest pain. The pain comes and goes with each heart beat. I am 34 and healthy (I weight train and run 5 days weekly and have an extremely healthy diet) but very stressed lately due to job related issues. I am not experiencing rebound tenderness, and I have not exercised in a way that would cause musculoskeletal pain. I have no medical conditions and I am not taking any medications aside from an occasional daily multivitamin. Should I be concerned?
Brief Answer:
go for an ECG.
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to HCM.
I can understand your concerns.
Your experiencing sharp, intermittent chest pain.
You are also stressed due to job.
Despite having healthy lifestyle, I would advise you to go for ECG to rule screen out cardiac issues.
Usually the cardiac pain is squeezing type or feeling of weight on chest, radiating to arms, neck, jaw and back.
You are not at the risk age-wise also.
Your pain may be stress related but its better to be on safer side and go for ECG.
Do not panic.
Hope this helps.
I wish you well.
Thanks.
