Brief Answer:
Sciatica unlikely, could be sacroilitis or hip arthritis.

Detailed Answer:
Hi I am Dr Gopal Goel Orthopedic Surgeon.
Sharp pain in buttocks and hip flexor area is unlikely to be sciatica. Most likely it is hip arthritis or (R) Sacroilitis.( inflammation of the joint between pelvis and spine)
I suggest pain killers ,muscle relaxants and spinal extension exercises. If there is no relief in 10 days then get X rays of Pelvis.
Thanx for the question. Please feel free to ask any other question.
