Suggest Treatment For Sharp Pain On The Chest Area

Question: I am having sharp pain on my Right chest between the breast bone and the nipple only when I swallow.
what could this be

Thank you for posting the query.

From the complaints it seems that the sharp pain you have been experiencing is most probably due to oesophagitis. The food pipe,oesophagus,in its distal part is inflammed and swollen inside. During swallowing,when the food bolus reaches the inflammed part,it causes sharp pain.

It may also be associated due to long standing Gastro-esophageal reflux disease (GERD)

Take antacids with probiotics,for atleast 3 days. Avoid spicy food. Saline warm water gargles will help.
Anti inflammatory tablets will help reduce the inflammation.

Once the pain subsides,a gastroscopy is highly recommended to find out the exact reason of pain.
